Tracker + AI coach

Log everything.
Then ask anything.

A complete food and training tracker you run yourself. Because every meal and every set is already in there, the coach answers from your actual history and shows you the research behind it.

Two things, and they're both in your log. Weekly chest volume is down about a fifth since week 3, and you've averaged 310 kcal under target for eleven days.

Add a fourth pressing set back in and eat at maintenance for a fortnight. Strength stalls on a deficit long before it stalls on programming.

01The tracker

A real app first.
Every screen works by hand.

Every screen is free and works without the AI. You can run the whole thing yourself, the way you would run any good tracker. The difference is that the tedious flows got the most attention. Where something needs the coach, it says so.

01

Nutrition

Log food by hand and see where the day lands.

Add what you ate from your pantry or the food database in a couple of taps. The energy ring, macro bars and hydration update as you go, and any week, month or custom range shows your daily averages and which days hit the target.

Daily averages and a per-day calorie breakdown for a date range
02

Recipes

Recipes you build once and log in one move.

Put a recipe together from your pantry and the editor works out the macros per serving as you go. Save it, favourite it, scale it to the portions you actually ate, and log the lot in one move. With the coach, paste a recipe link and the ingredients are imported for you.

03

Photo

Scan the barcode, or photograph the plate or the label.

A barcode is looked up straight to a product, free and with no AI involved. With the coach, a photo of a plate gets broken into components with estimated portions and a nutrition label is read straight off the packet. All of them land in the same editable form before anything is saved.

04

Training

Build the split, then log every session against it.

Edit a workout plan exercise by exercise, with target sets, reps, loads and coaching notes. In the gym, log each set's reps, weight and RPE with the target and what you did last time right above it, and the exercise's history one tap away.

05

Progress

Per-exercise history and the next weight on the bar.

Every logged set feeds per-exercise 1RM, top-set and volume trends, plus weekly volume per muscle group. It tells you when you have earned the next jump.

06

Pantry

Your own food catalogue, and the shopping list from it.

Every food is yours, with macros, barcodes, what is on hand and what is running low. Edit any item in one sheet: scan its barcode, set the amount on hand and correct the per-100 g macros. With the coach, import a whole shop from a receipt photo, a grocery photo or a pasted list. The shopping list is whatever your plan needs that you have not got.

07

Body

Composition, not just a number on a scale.

Weigh-ins with body fat and circumferences. It derives BMI, FFMI, lean and fat mass, a Navy body-fat estimate and VO₂max, then tracks all of it on a rolling average so one salty dinner does not look like a setback.

08

Diet plans

A plan that rotates through the week.

Days, meals and portions with their own macro targets and a weekday schedule. Log a meal exactly as planned in one tap. With the coach, bring a plan your trainer wrote and it gets rebuilt here instead of retyped.

Food database

A food index that escalates until it finds the answer.

Your pantry is searched first, because the food you actually buy should win. On a miss it falls through to a self-hosted index built from the OpenFoodFacts branded catalogue and USDA FoodData Central, and only then to the web. Barcodes resolve straight to a product.

Evidence base

Advice that can show you where it came from.

With the coach, training, nutrition, supplement and recovery questions run against a self-hosted index of papers, abstracts and guidelines, with hybrid keyword and semantic search and a reranking pass. You can ask it to use only meta-analyses and systematic reviews. Whatever it leans on renders as a Sources card, and it is told never to invent a citation.

Never invented. If nothing relevant is indexed the coach says so instead of inventing a reference.

02The payoff

A year of your own data,
and the papers to read it against.

This is the part a generic chatbot cannot do. Every meal, set, weigh-in and step is already structured, so when you ask a question the coach reads your actual history instead of guessing. Then it checks the claim against a knowledge base of studies and guidelines.

Grounded in you

It answers from your log

“Why has my bench stalled?” pulls your last eight weeks of sessions, your volume trend and your calorie average. The answer names your numbers, because it read them.

Claims come with their sources

Training, nutrition, supplement and recovery claims are retrieved from a self-hosted index of papers and guidelines, with meta-analyses preferred over single studies.

And when you cannot be bothered filling anything in, you can just tell it what you ate and it fills the form for you. That is the last layer, not the point.

The AI is the upgrade.

Running the app costs us almost nothing, so every screen in it is free. The AI costs real money every time it thinks, so the AI features are the only part with a price on them.

04Questions

Common questions.

The short answers to what people ask before signing up.

What is Jim-Bro.ai?

Jim-Bro.ai is a food and training tracker with an AI fitness and nutrition coach on top. You log meals, workouts, weigh-ins, water and steps, and the coach answers questions from that logged history, showing the studies and guidelines behind its advice.

Which free fitness calculators does Jim-Bro.ai have?

Jim-Bro.ai has free calculators for TDEE (with BMR, maintenance calories, macros and protein), calorie deficits, water intake, body fat (US Navy, US Army one-site and Deurenberg methods), FFMI and lean body mass, BMI, ideal weight, maximum muscular potential, ideal body proportions, body shape and waist-to-hip ratio, one-rep max, RPE, warm-up sets, training volume, strength level, Wilks and DOTS scores, strength balance, barbell plate loading, VO2 max with heart rate zones, steps to calories, and workout and lifting calories. None of them needs an account, all accept metric or imperial units, and they run the same functions the app and the AI coach use.

Is Jim-Bro.ai free?

Yes. Everything in Jim-Bro.ai is free except the AI features: food, water, steps and workout logging, barcode scanning, the pantry, recipes, shopping lists, rotating diet plans, workout splits, body composition tracking, progress charts, PDF exports and every calculator. The paid upgrade is the AI coach, which answers questions about your own data and adds photo logging, recipe import from a URL and plan import, because every answer it writes costs real compute.

How is Jim-Bro.ai different from other calorie trackers?

Most calorie trackers make you search a shared food database and do the portion maths yourself. Jim-Bro.ai keeps your own pantry of foods and builds recipes from it, and its coach reads your actual logged meals and sessions before answering, so advice names your numbers rather than generic targets.

Can Jim-Bro.ai log food from a photo?

Yes, with the coach. A photo of a plate is broken into components with estimated portions and a nutrition label is read off the packet. Barcode scanning is free and needs no coach. Everything opens in an editable form so nothing is saved until you confirm it.

Where does Jim-Bro.ai get its nutrition data?

Food lookups search your own pantry first, then a self-hosted index built from the OpenFoodFacts branded catalogue and USDA FoodData Central, and only then the web. Barcodes resolve straight to a product.

Does Jim-Bro.ai work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Jim-Bro.ai runs in the browser and installs to the home screen like a native app on iPhone, Android and desktop, because it is a progressive web app. There is nothing to download from an app store.

Can I import a diet or workout plan from my trainer?

Yes, with the coach. A plan from a PDF or a screenshot is rebuilt as a native diet plan or workout split, which you can then follow and log against instead of retyping it.

Which languages does Jim-Bro.ai support?

The app is available in English, Greek, Italian, Dutch, Albanian, Arabic, Persian and Urdu, with full right-to-left layouts for Arabic, Persian and Urdu.
